ABOUT BIYAYA...

Biyaya Church believes that we are saved by the grace of God and it is this grace that enables us, Christians, to come together and live in unity and love. Biyaya is responding to the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20, thereby building a community of faith where worship is vibrant, membership is inclusive, families are strengthened as children are cherished, singles are welcomed and elders are cared for; programs and activities are service-oriented. With this as our vision, we had the following as statement of faith:

1) declare God's saving Grace

2) demonstrate God's love and Christ's example

3) dedicate ourselves to serve our community and

4) devote ourselves to embrace those seeking belonging and acceptance

To be a Christian is not only to know that there is God nor to believe that Jesus is the Savior. To be a Christian involves more than just believing in Jesus as the Son of God, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died as a sacrifice for our sins, and rose again from the grave.

For more than these, Christianity involves the entrusting of our souls and lives to Jesus Christ, which happens when we accept God's free gift of salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9). In receiving it we must admit our sinfulness and tell Him we need and want His forgiveness and the new spiritual life He offers. Christianity also involves a life of fellowship with other Chrsitians. One needs to belong to a church for growth and community (Acts 2:42-47).
