... About Chosen: Called to Praise, Destined for Worship

Chosen was formed in 1999 by members of Biyaya Community Church, namely, Alan Santos as the guitarist and worship leader; Louel Fabila as the bassist and Frances Fabila as keyboardist. As the kingdom of God grew through the ministry of the Biyaya Community Church, He placed more and more people who are willing to use their musical skills and talents for His ministry: David Otegbola and Ranier Reyes replaced Louel Fabila in the bass guitar and Louel Fabila became the drummer, David Reyes also played the guitars and did back up vocals. It was during one Christmas celebration when the band was given a name – Into the Light. Into the Light continued to enhance the Sunday Worship Service by leading the congregation in praise and worship. Three years ago, the band decided to change their name to "Chosen", reflective of the fact that these young people are chosen by God to lead His congregation in praising Him, called by God to sing His praises and glorify only His name alone. The main purpose of this group is to give glory to the name of God through songs and music – that through the music they make, God is pleased and people get to know Him. It is not about how good they play, not about how excellent the instruments are, not about how good the players look but it’s all about what’s in their hearts when they play. The sole purpose is to lift the name of God and sing praises of how wonderful God is in their lives and how thankful they are for the gift of music.

Currently, Chosen is composed of talented young people led by David Otegbola who plays the bass, Louel Fabila who plays the drums, Michael Otegbola who plays guitar, Frances Fabila who plays the keyboards, Cheska Narvaez, Aira Extrimadura and Christopher Fernandez who sing, and Merceflor Herradura as the worship leader. Chosen's back up drummers are Carlo Fernandez & Alex Extrimadura. Also, Aris Extrimadura is Chosen's sound technician.
